Money

What we pay

Pay is hourly, on a set payroll schedule, based on your experience, your certification and the shift itself. Overnight, weekend and holiday shifts pay more than a weekday morning.

You are a W-2 employee of Kinstead Home Care LLC, not an independent contractor. Payroll taxes are handled, and we carry the workers' compensation and liability insurance.

Hourly range

$20–$22 per hour, based on experience, certification and shift

  • Paid travel time between clients during a shift
  • Mileage reimbursed at the current IRS business rate
  • Higher rates for overnight, weekend and holiday shifts
  • W-2 employment — we carry workers' compensation and liability insurance

The work

What the work is

  • Bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, toileting and continence support
  • Ambulation and stand-by or contact-guard steadying for someone who can bear their own weight
  • Assistance with eating for someone who can swallow safely
  • Meals, housekeeping, errands, companionship and transport
  • Respite relief for family caregivers
  • Medication reminders following the prescriber's schedule

The ceiling

What we will never ask you to do

  • Two-person or mechanical-lift transfers
  • Feeding anyone with a swallowing risk, and never by tube
  • Nursing, therapy, wound care, injections or medication administration

If a household asks for something on this list, you say no and call the office. That is the correct answer and you will be backed for giving it.

What we ask

  • Reliability above everything: you arrive, and you call early if you cannot
  • A driver's license and vehicle for cases involving transport
  • Willingness to complete a Massachusetts CORI and a national background check
  • Completion of training before your first shift

What you get from us

  • Cases within a reasonable distance of where you live
  • Consistent clients rather than a new address every day
  • Training paid for
  • A real person answering the phone early in the morning when something changes
  • The scope ceiling means you will never be asked to do alone a transfer that needs two people

How we hire

We run a Massachusetts CORI check and a national background check after a conditional offer, not before. If anything comes back that affects the offer, we give you a copy of the report and a chance to respond before any decision is made. We never ask about sealed or expunged records.

Equal opportunity

Kinstead Home Care LLC is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, pregnancy or a condition related to pregnancy, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, genetic information, military or veteran status, or criminal record within the limits the law allows. We do not ask for salary history.
