Why Kinstead
Six things you can check before you trust us with your mother
We do not compete on price. We compete on the things a family can actually verify: who comes to the door, how often that person changes, what we refuse to do, and who picks up the phone.
Everything on this page is something you are welcome to ask us to prove at the free home visit.
What we hold ourselves to
The six that decide whether this works
The same caregiver, on purpose
Continuity is most of what makes home care work. We match on the practical things first and then keep that person in place. If the match is not right, tell us and we change it.
Our employees, not contractors
Every caregiver is a W-2 employee of Kinstead Home Care LLC, CORI and nationally background checked, bonded and insured. We carry the workers' compensation, run payroll and handle the taxes.
We say out loud what we will not do
No nursing, therapy, wound care, injections or medication administration. No two-person or mechanical-lift transfers. If your situation needs more than one trained caregiver can safely manage, we will tell you before you sign anything.
Reported the same day
Caregivers follow the schedule the doctor set, notice when something looks different, and report it the same day. You hear it from us, not two weeks later.
The owner is reachable
Atul does the home visit and supervises the work. You are not routed through a call center to reach the person responsible for your case.
Help with the parts we do not sell
Meals, rides, heating bills, Medicare counseling — we keep the phone numbers and we will walk you through them, even when the answer is that you need somebody other than us.
Scope
Where the line sits
Most complaints about home care start with a promise that should never have been made. Here is ours, in full, before you ask.
What we provide

- Companion care: conversation, social time, supervision and regular check-ins
- Meal preparation, hydration reminders and assistance with eating for someone who can swallow safely
- Light housekeeping, laundry, dishes and general household upkeep
- Transportation and escorted support for appointments, errands and community outings
- Medication reminders that follow the prescriber's schedule, with same-day reporting
- Respite care for family caregivers, from a few hours to overnight cover
- Recovery support after a hospital stay, plus steady day-to-day support for someone living with dementia
What we do not provide
- Two-person or mechanical-lift transfers
- Feeding anyone with a swallowing risk, and never by tube
- Nursing, therapy, wound care, injections or medication administration
- Any case that needs more than one trained caregiver can safely manage
Questions worth asking any agency
Ask us these, and ask them too
- Are your caregivers employees or contractors, and who carries the insurance?
- How many different people will come in a typical month?
- Who do I call at seven in the evening, and who answers?
- What will you refuse to do, and what happens if my mother needs it?
- How do I hear about something that changed during a shift?
- What does a written quote include, and what is billed on top of it?
Practical detail
Hours, cover and cost
Cost depends on the hours, the times of day and how much of the week is covered. We quote it in writing after the home visit rather than guessing at a number on a page.
We serve Lexington and the surrounding towns. If you are outside that, say so on the first call and we will point you somewhere useful.
